Wedding day coordination is what Charithra does: once those choices are made, our team takes over the operational execution on the day itself, managing the run sheet, vendor arrivals, and timing so you and your family aren't fielding phone calls or checking the clock.

How do you handle the auspicious Nekath timing for the Poruwa ceremony?

Traditional Sinhala weddings are built around Nekath — auspicious timing for key moments of the Poruwa ceremony. Our coordination team synchronizes directly with the Ashtaka and traditional drummers so the ceremony begins and proceeds at the correct auspicious minute, alongside the Jayamangala Gatha and other customary rites.

Do you coordinate weddings outside Colombo, or destination weddings?

Yes. Charithra is based in Colombo and coordinates weddings at venues islandwide, including coastal resorts and hotels outside the city.

What happens if something goes wrong on the wedding day, like a vendor running late?

Accepted Answer

Handling exactly that is the point of having a coordinator. If a vendor is delayed, we adjust the schedule and buffer other elements without the couple needing to get involved; if the program is running behind, we resynchronize with the venue's banquet team to keep food service and toasts on track. Weather changes and similar disruptions are handled the same way — quietly, and without disrupting the celebration.
